Last week’s 6th Annual Fashion 2.0 Awards was the highlight of my trip to NYC. I was so excited to attend this red-carpet event that I spent the morning getting a glamorous hair style by Not Your Mother’s brand and a red-carpet makeup look from Physician’s Formula. I wore a jumpsuit from UK brand Little Mistress plus a vintage marabou feather coat and was escorted to this event by my sweet friend Joel from What Do I Wear.
More than 450 fashion industry leaders gathered for the Fashion 2.0 Awards ceremony to celebrate the intersection of fashion brand marketing and digital innovation. Sam Edelman offered a keynote and TV personality Robert Verdi hosted the evening’s events.
Notable presenters included Carol Alt, Model and Author; Dayana Mendoza, Model and Miss Universe 2008; Models Hannah Ferguson, Clark Bockelman, and Janis Ancens; Danica Lo, Online Editor-at-Large, Glamour; Max Berlinger, Senior Editor, DETAILS; Marielle Bobo, Fashion & Beauty Director, Ebony; Erica Domesek, Author, P.S.- I Made This; Jessica Lawrence, Executive Director, NY Tech Meetup and Lauren Drell, Branded Content Director, Mashable.
The big winner was Rebecca Minkoff, who was the only brand to take away two awards: Best Interactive Retail and Top Innovator. Other winners included Dior (Best Twitter), H&M (Best Facebook), Opening Ceremony (Best Instagram), Kate Spade (Best Pinterest), Net-A-Porter (Best E-Commerce), Dressember (Best Digital Philanthropy), Under Armour (Best Online Video ‘I Will What I Want’), Marc Jacobs (Best Online Campaign ‘Cast Me Marc’), Tory Burch (Best Wearable Tech – Tory Burch for Fitbit), and Cosmic Cart (Best Fashion Startup). The Visionary Award was presented to BaubleBar founders Amy Jain and Daniella Yacobosky.
It was such an honor to be in attendance at this industry-insider event and I was especially moved by model and author Carol Alt’s tribute to Oscar de la Renta. Immediately following the awards ceremony we attended a cocktail reception and then headed across the street for a great late-night meal at The Smith. Night’s like this are just another reason why I love NYC!
