Happy Memorial Day in My One Dollar Skirt!

IMG_0362Happy Memorial Day! I’ve been enjoying this long weekend the way I do best – hitting up all of the garage and estate sales in my area searching for treasures.  I’ve also been preparing for our upcoming move to the new house (hopefully escrow will close in the next few days) and taking long walks with my big puppy.  I felt so good about completing last Sunday’s 7.1 mile Bay to Breakers that I wanted to keep up the momentum and be more disciplined about hitting the pavement.  Plus I’ve been seeing so many cute swimsuits online and in stores that I’d like to get in shape for…

IMG_0258This vintage skirt – originally from the Mauna Kea hotel in Hawaii – was my favorite find from this weekend.  I found it folded up under a pile of 80’s ‘Dynasty’ sweaters at an estate sale in my neighborhood and was tickled that it fit me and was only ONE DOLLAR!! I also found a couple of cute coffee mugs and a Stork Club ashtray that I think I’ll use as a jewelry catch-all.  For these pictures I paired the skirt with a Madewell shirt, Dior ‘Diorlita’ wedges, a Brahmin clutch purchased on Poshmark from the lovely Icon Concierge, a J Crew link bracelet, Juicy Couture sunnies and that gifted fish hook bracelet from the sweethearts at Wimbo Apparel.

IMG_0260I love the long eyelashes on the winking horses up front and the little gingham bows on their tails.

IMG_0341IMG_0303I hope you’re enjoying this long weekend and that you’re as excited for the this unofficial start of summer as I am!
