Home Remodel: Insulation, Stucco and Showers

currently crushing, home remodelThis was a big week for our remodeling project and with each step that’s completed I get more excited about moving back in.  We’ve got all of our wiring and plumbing completed now and just put insulation in the upstairs ceiling plus ‘hot mopping’ to waterproof the shower flooring…

currently crushing, home remodelcurrently crushing, home remodelWork on the exterior started this week, too.  We decided to stucco over the brick pillars in the front of the house which played a big part in giving it sort of an Identity Crisis… Mid-Century Modern plus a pagoda-style roof with a 70’s lava rock chimney and then a Spanish/Mediterranean courtyard – not to mention the crazy ‘Swiss Alps’ staircase in the middle of the living room which blocked the fireplace…
