Jenna Lyons Townhouse: Before and After

I’ve been completely consumed with our home remodel these past few weeks and as we’re getting closer to actually moving back in to the house I’m spending every free moment pouring over decor details in magazines and online.  I came across the above living room shot of J Crew’s Creative Director, Jenna Lyons’ former home while I was searching for decorating ideas involving dark wood floors and pale grey walls as that’s what I’m doing with our new place.

Since the sale of this Brooklyn townhouse in 2012,  new owners Vincent and Tracy Martin have made quite a lot of changes and I thought it would be fun to compare a few of my favorite rooms before and after.  The living room as it looks now, below…

I truly love Jenna’s relaxed, elegant style and her approach to decorating which she compares to putting together an outfit, like starting with one statement piece such as an old pair of jeans, a cashmere cardigan or a floral belt and then working around that central fashion statement.

Which decorating style do you like best for this home – before or after?
