Hello from NYC! I’m always so happy to be back here, even if only for a few days. Last night was a fun party at Vogue to celebrate Summer and tour their new offices at One World Trade Center.
The views and lighting from the 34th floor were absolutely breathtaking; if I worked there I would probably stare out the window all day and never get anything done. Can you believe this stunning staircase?
I hemmed and hawed over what to wear to this party and packed quite a few options but ended up with basic black and felt comfortable and chic. I’m wearing those Hidden Jeans (last seen here) and the EMU sandals (worn more casually, here) that are probably my most ‘walkable’ pair of heels – perfect for NYC.
Before the event, and after a redeye flight with zero sleep, I went to Caravan Style Studio for hair, makeup and nails. These are the lovlies that I visited with my mom during my Mother’s Day visit and also made me look glam for the Style Coalition awards back in April. Not Your Mother’s haircare products gave my hair lots of volume, Physician’s Formula provided all of my makeup and my nails were painted in a holographic grey shade from Color Club.
Jergens was on hand at the party and I went home with three of their newest products: a Color Primer, Instant Sun mousse and a Tan Extender. I’m excited to try all three of them and get working on my sunless glow!
MCM was at the party with their A/W 2015 collection and I went ape over their super-soft leathers and Roboter clutches:
A highlight of the evening was having Fashion Illustrator Blair Breitenstein, who takes an expressionistic approach to contemporary fashion, customize an MCM limited-edition Soho Portfolio for me! I can’t wait to carry my new bag and show you how it turned out.
The Vogue Summer Soiree was the perfect way to cap off my first night back in my favorite city. I made it back to my hotel room exhausted from the redeye and a day of running around town but not too tired to enjoy the sweetest little surprise from the Vogue team:
