Wendy's Apple Pecan Salad, currently crushing

Every year around this time, maybe it’s in preparation for Spring and Summer music festivals like Coachella and my Hollywood Bowl series, I naturally begin craving lighter meals that are made with fresh ingredients.  In the cooler months I can’t get enough of my comfort-food favorites but as soon as the days get longer and the temperatures rise I’m all about the freshness!  I was so happy to be invited to try out the new Wendy’s salads and share my experience with you.

I decided to visit my local Wendy’s to try the Wendy’s Apple Pecan Chicken Salad which marries the crisp refreshing snap of ripe red and green apples with the delectable crunch of roasted pecans. This springtime splendor harmonizes sweet and savory throughout with delicious cranberries and creamy blue cheese crumbles topped with Marzetti® Simply Dressed® Pomegranate Vinaigrette.  During my visit I learned that there is a big difference between ‘fresh’ and ‘freshly assembled’.

Wendy’s Apple Pecan Chicken Salad was incredibly fresh and delicious.  I loved the warm, just-grilled chicken plus the pieces of apple and crunchy pecans were the perfect complement to this super-fresh salad.  All of Wendy’s salads feature delicious ingredients that offer flavorful tastes that you wouldn’t expect from a quick serve restaurant.  In every Wendy’s restaurant, employees hand chop the vegetables fresh every morning, starting with full heads of iceberg and romaine lettuces and other veggies like cucumbers and red peppers.  Every salad entrée uses 100% premium white meat chicken breasts that are grilled at the time of your order and placed warm on your salad.  I would definitely order this one again and I’m excited to try the Wendy’s BBQ Ranch Chicken Salad and Wendy’s Asian Chicken Cashew Salad, as well.
