Happy Mother’s Day! I’m heading out to a family brunch this morning but wanted to share pictures of yesterday’s Revlon Run/Walk for Women. This was my first time joining in on this important event and I was honored to be walking as part of “Team Melissa” with our friends who lost their beautiful daughter Melissa to ovarian cancer in her early 20’s. We had a fun group of 47 friends (including the group that I went to Puerto Vallarta with earlier this year) and rode together in a chartered school bus…
Our sweet friends even thought of snacks for us! We wore signs on our backs with Melissa’s picture and also had signs to carry on the 3.1 mile walk.
This cute Labradoodle, Lily, donned her race t-shirt and walked the whole way with us:
I’m so glad that I took part in this important event. There were a few times during the walk that I was overcome with sadness from reading the names on the other walker’s backs of their loved ones who had been lost to cancer but walking helped me feel like I was helping in some small way and I’m definitely going to get involved again next year.
