My first LAFW show of the season started off with a bang Saturday night at Supperclub Los Angeles…
Dancer turned Fashion Designer, Chery Koo kicked off LA Fashion Week with her own showcase to debut her new collection. Cheryl’s CM2K line represents her third collection to hit the runway. This amazingly choreographed show was unlike any fashion show I’ve ever seen, with Cheryl surprising us all by being among the dancers and showing her versatility and involvement in every aspect of her designs and shows.
This was my first time at Supperclub and I can’t wait to return – the comfy seating areas, spectacular sound and engaging emcee made the night even more memorable. I also enjoyed a fabulous hosted 3-course dinner by Executive Chef Guus Wickenhagen with plenty of free-flowing libations.
Cheryl Koo was the RAWawards Fashion Designer of the Year winner in 2012 and her designs have been featured on “Germany’s Next Top Model” with Heidi Klum and worn by Nicki Minaj in Alicia Key’s ‘This Girl’s on Fire” video. Cheryl’s third offering with her CM2K line, Back to Black, showcases a polarized vision of harmony and conflict and is beyond avant-garde with messages from Teddy bears to war and an edgy street-style meets cozy-couture feel. Cheryl achieves this level of classy comfort by mixing different luxury textiles such as leather and suede with nylon and plastic to compliment the comfort and wear-ability of black cotton fleece.
It was such a thrill to be ‘front row’ for this unbelievable show and the best possible way to kick off LAFW!
