Hello from NYC! Fashion Week is always hectic and with the blur of shows, lounges and parties it’s interesting to see which experiences ‘rise to the top’ and become my favorite NYFW memories. Betsey Johnson’s Spring/Summer 2016 show, The Curious Case of Betsey Button, is my overall favorite show of the week.
Betsey narrated the entire show and took us through the 5 decades of her design career, Benjamin Button style, with her most recent collection first and then worked her way back to her childhood dance costumes; which her mother had saved. This show was dedicated to Betsey Johnson’s childhood dance teacher, Anna K. Pimm, who was there to show her support. Johnson’s love of costumes and dance was evident throughout the show and truly felt like one big dance party through time.
Betsey, wearing her 9/11 tribute shirt, ended with her famous cartwheel and splits, right in front of where I was seated! Needless to say, this was an absolute highlight of my week in NYC.
