Green Day, Weezer and Beck rocked night two of KROQ’s Almost Acoustic Christmas held last night at The Forum in Inglewood, California. Almost Acoustic Christmas is an annual concert run by the Los Angeles radio station KROQ-FM. The first show was held in December 1989 and proceeds from this years’ shows benefit local charities Para Los Niños and the Al Wooten Jr. Heritage Center.
This was my first time with backstage access toThe Forum’s ‘Forum Club’ which included a buffet meal, popcorn and candy at the bars, a crepe station, ice cream sundae station plus a KROQ interview area. I definitely got spoiled by the royal treatment in this backstage lounge area.
From our seats we had a great view of the bands and the beautiful paper confetti ‘snow’ that made this fun night feel even more festive.
As a Weezer fan from way back, I sang my way through their entire set from the opening “Hash Pipe” through “Beverly Hills,” “Island in the Sun,” Say It Ain’t So” and ending up with “Buddy Holly”; it was so much fun to hear the capacity crowd at The Forum singing every word with me! xo
