“Serving up Summer” was the theme of my very first cocktail party since finishing my home remodel and it was a hit! Planning this get-together was a lot of fun and all of my planning allowed me to relax and enjoy the party even more. I also created two new recipes along the way, which I’ll certainly be serving up again this summer. For this summer-themed party, I decided to keep the food simple, but still elegant, with a slider bar, freshly-sliced salami, mini wedge salads and a medley of gourmet chips served up on my finest china.

When it was time for dessert, I surprised my friends with a special dessert which I created just for this occasion, an elevated take on the traditional shortcake that I’m calling “American Honey Peach Shortcake”. To make this special dessert, I simply peeled and sliced fresh peaches, placed them in a bowl with 1 cup of American Honey, covered them up and refrigerated overnight and then when it was time to serve, I topped warm shortcakes with the peaches and added fresh whipped cream. My American Honey Peach Shortcake was the perfect dessert for my summertime party.
Everything came together perfectly for my summertime cocktail party: fun friends, easy-to-prepare food, great music, games, American Honey Lemonade plus my American Honey Peach Shortcakes for dessert, all added up to a summer night well spent.
