One of my favorite hairstyles is a take off on the messy bun that I call my Cali Chignon – it’s simple and quick and has a relaxed elegance that’s perfect for warm LA days…
My hair is naturally straight but I think this style works well with all hair types and I like how it looks when I take the time to use my curling wand to give it a little more body. First up I make three sections and make a ponytail with each one using a clear rubber band…
After wrapping the ponytail through the band a couple of times, leave it in a loop instead of pulling your hair all the way through so you’re left with three loopy ponytails…
Then take each loop and weave a bobby pin through it to secure the loopy sections to your head.
Continue pinning the buns to your head ( I just use one or two bobby pins per bun) until they’re all secured…
That’s it! This has become my go-to style for the messy bun look. I think the three sections make this style a little more interesting and fun. Did you happen to notice those fabulous earrings?
