Finally feeling a little bit like Fall here in LA! It’s that funny, changeable weather that has me wanting to wear my knits and boots but it’s still a tiny bit too warm to go all out with the layers. This cute outfit, which is really perfect for LA, is made up of easily-transitional pieces that are great for this time of year. My trumpet-sleeved dress is lightweight enough for warmer days but would also look snazzy with some tights and boots in cooler weather. I decided to meet somewhere in the middle with heather grey socks (to tie in my cap) and short boots.
The hem and sleeve length make this dress a winner for all sorts of occasions where I need to be a little modestly dressed but still want to look like myself and not too covered up. The neckline is especially flattering and the pockets make it perfect; everything is better with pockets!
Since I’m always a little bit chilly, this hat is a big winner for me. If you followed along on my trip to France and Italy earlier this month you’ll know that I pretty much lived in knit caps; they kept me warm without a lot of bulk, kept my hair looking a little neater on windy days and also were fine to keep on when we went shopping or were eating at restaurants. Bigger hats are always an issue for me because I’m never sure whether to keep them on inside or take them off.
I am already starting to plan my Thanksgiving outfit for next week up in San Francisco and I think this one will be perfect with some sweater tights and a sparkly necklace. This year I’m looking forward to spending time with my family and reflecting on all of the things I’m thankful for. I’m especially thankful for the love and support I’ve received during the past 4 years from YOU and each and every one of my readers and Instagram followers. xo
