Concerts at Hollywood Bowl are one of the best things about Summer in LA. I look forward to warm Summer nights and music under the stars all of the other seasons of the year and have been counting the days until our shows begin. My first show so far was Basement Jaxx and I’ve got two more this week that I’m beyond excited for. The Smokey Robinson concert this coming Friday will be my first one of the season back in our usual box seats so I’m particularly looking forward to setting up our meal. Each year I try to come up with simple and elegant ways to make our Hollywood Bowl dining experience even more special.
It’s surprisingly simple to turn those little pop-up tables into an elegant outdoor setting by adding tablecloths, pretty plates and a few other glam touches. Little LED lights and mini vases look pretty without taking up too much space and as much as I love the idea of an ice bucket for the champagne, there just doesn’t seem to be enough room on the little tables. If you’re eating your meal in the picnic area then there is plenty of space for an ice bucket and other fancy things.
Here’s a short video I made about packing your picnic for Hollywood Bowl:
I hope you enjoyed the video and I look forward to seeing you at ‘The Bowl’ this Summer. For more information on Smokey Robinson in concert, please visit: http://bit.ly/CurrentlyCrushingJuly4
