Once again, it’s time to share my latest beauty discoveries. This month I’ve got a new crop of makeup and skincare products t that are destined to become old favorites. I love trying new products but most of the ones I try don’t get bought a second time, either because I’m on to the next great thing or I end up going back to my old standbys.
This month’s favorites include two mascaras that are equally amazing but a little bit different from each other. I bought the full size Bare Minerals Lash Domination after trying a sample of it from Sephora a couple of months ago and then I received a mini of the YSL Baby Doll with my bonus points and loved it so much that I bought the full size one a few days later to save the little one for travel. The Lash Domination gives me a lush, full look and the Baby Doll gives me more of a lengthy well-defined look – each one is great on it’s own and even better layered up!
I discovered Dr. Lin’s Daily Hydrating Gel at a fun Summer Beauty School event in West Hollywood last month where I had the opportunity to hear Dr. Lin speak about Summer skin care. This gel is addictively smooth and cooling and I love how it sinks in to my skin plus at a price point of under $10 it’s a steal. The Goldfaden MD Doctor’s Scrub is in a class by itself when it comes to scrubs. Dr. Goldfaden’s coveted exfoliator contains powerful ruby crystals that provide immediate cell renewal by polishing away dead surface cells and leaves my skin feeling brighter and clearer. I’ve been hearing about the Murad Acne Spot Fast Fix for quite some time and finally picked it up and I can’t believe that I went this long without it – it clears up my occasional chin blemishes without drying the surrounding skin.
I’m a big fan of a little faux-glow in the Summer and this Karora Tinted Self Tan Mist one was sent to me for review and I ended up loving the instant tint that it provided! It’s the perfect light, golden glow that went on easily with the mitt that came with it and gave me a good 6-7 days of natural-looking color. I normally don’t use a tinted self tanner but genuinely liked this feature because I could see where the color was going and I had a little glow right away. Skinagain’s Vanish cream came to me highly recommended by a friend to try on a little patch of still-pink skin on my left cheek from a burn last year and after less than a month of daily use, it’s starting to lighten up! Last but not least, the Eve Pearl HD liquid foundation feels just like a smooth, silky primer but gives me smooth coverage and looks great under bright lights. It doesn’t have an SPF in it, which I prefer for evening and indoor events since the chemicals in sunscreen give my skin a ruddy tone that looks like a sunburn under artificial lighting.
I’m such a sucker for luxury lip products. I generally wear a lot of bright oranges and reds on my lips but I’ve been in a pink mood ever since spotting this perfect Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous Intense lip color. My color is #129 ‘Suprenante’ and it’s a great medium rose pink.
I hope you’ve enjoyed reading about this month’s new favorites and I’d love to hear about your beauty discoveries.
