Last week the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Las Vegas came to town and opened an amazing Pop Up Resort at the Doheny Estate in the Hollywood Hills. I was honored to attend this fabulous event and was treated to an amazing spa treatment that left me feeling relaxed, refreshed and ready to take on the world…
I received quite a greeting at the door and was immediately whisked away to a lovely spa room where my heels were traded in for slippers and my masseuse was waiting to find out a little more about me, aromatherapy-wise. I answered a brief questionnaire where it was determined that I am a ‘fire’ but my element was a little off balance. The lovely scented oils and scrubs certainly made me feel relaxed and balanced.
Tea was served immediately following my hour-long massage and I had the chance to talk to the Spa Director about the essences that were used during my massage and foot scrub. I was sent home with a beautiful bag of products from the spa plus a decadent little box of truffles, courtesy of the chef who was preparing lunch.
This glamorous event marked the first time a Mandarin Oriental property and the Triple Forbes five-star Las Vegas hotel has put down roots in Los Angeles. The temporary location in the Hollywood Hills on Doheny debuted Michelin starred Chef Pierre Gagnaire’s Twist restaurant (his only U.S. restaurant at MOLV in Las Vegas), a full Mandarin Oriental Spa and sample guest suites. This luxury hotel’s two day sampling of lunches, dinners, cocktail parties and spa treatments was just a sneak peek for a projected long-awaited opening in LA. I love having an opportunity to get a taste of Mandarin Oriental’s international flagship, Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas, here in Hollywood.
