NYFW: Dinner at Davio’s

After all of the Fashion Week craziness of skipped meals and existing on the teeny, tiny appetizers served at events and lounges, it was absolute heaven to relax and enjoy a chef’s tasting dinner at Davio’s Manhattan.  Davio’s is located in the same building as the fabulous Hotel Boutique Grand Central; my home away from home during New York Fashion Week.  Italian food has always been my comfort food and I needed it more than ever last week.

My meal began in the best way possible; with freshly baked popovers with salted Vermont butter and a sparkling rose.  At that point, I would have been completely content making a meal out of the popovers but it was only the beginning.

Each course was drool-worthy and just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, another course was served and I was transported to a Northern Italian heaven on earth.

From the burrata pesto ciabatta to the beet salad and then lemon ricotta ravioli, each course was divine.  The service was outstanding and I loved my seat facing the kitchen.  The bubbly was flowing and just when I thought I couldn’t eat another bite…

Deconstructed tiramisu and deconstructed strawberry shortcake – oh, my!  My meal at Davio’s was truly a highlight of my time at NYFW.  It’s amazing how a simple thing like sitting down for a proper meal (especially Italian) can make everything feel right in the world.
