Projection by Vincent Lamouroux

This morning I attended a press preview of an art installation in Silver Lake at the old Sunset Pacific Motel.  The motel is commonly referred to as the ‘Bates Motel’ because of the similarities to the hotel in Hitchcock’s Psycho.  French artist Vincent Lamouroux’s site-specific art installation, Projection, is an architectural intervention in which the artist has covered the entire building in ecological-safe white opaque lime wash, inviting viewers to speculate, infer and project their own imaginings onto the stark white structure.

This was such a fun way to spend my Sunday morning!  I enjoyed hearing artist Vincent Lamouroux speak about this project and the community involvement behind this magnificent art installation.  Juice and tea were generously provided by Juice Served Here and August Uncommon Tea and now I’m officially hooked on that milky-white coconut water/coconut cream drink.

Projection is produced by Please Do Not Enter, a one-of-a-kind curated store in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles.
