Weekend in Boston

My first trip to Boston was enough of a taste to make me want to book a longer visit next time. I only had two full days to spend in this beautiful city but experienced my first real “Nor’ easter” on one of the days so only had about a day and a half to explore!  As soon as I dropped my bags at the hotel, I headed straight to the original Cheers Bar in Beacon Hill.  I stayed at the Omni Parker House and it was in the perfect location for absolutely everything I wanted to see and do.

I’m a bit of a Cheers fanatic so this was a big deal for me! The next morning was the storm so I took a cab to Tatte Bakery and that was my only outing of the day; with winds up to 46mph I was happy to spend the rest of my day in the hotel catching up on home improvement shows and episodes of The Office.

Tatte was the most amazing bakery I’ve ever visited; and that’s saying a lot! Fortunately, I brought a few pastries back to my hotel to nibble on during the storm.  The next morning I stopped at Tatte again before exploring the park, shopping and just getting a feel for Boston.

Although I’m pretty much exhausted from all the traveling I’ve been doing lately, a weekend visit to a place I’ve never been was a great idea and I’m so glad I had the chance to see a little bit of Boston. xo
