World Oceans Day, held every June 8th, is the United Nations-recognized day of ocean celebration and action. People all over our planet organize celebrations – which can be a huge event in your community, a special announcement, or anything in between – to support action to protect the ocean. This year, the theme is Healthy oceans, healthy planet, and a special effort is being made to stop plastic pollution. In support of World Oceans Day, I’m wearing tee from Consurfvation which is made from 100% recycled plastic water bottles – 16 of them to be exact!

With a motto of “Don’t trash where you splash”, Consurfvation was destined to become my new favorite eco-friendly tee line. Consurfvation Clothing was first conceived in 2011 to help bring awareness to our most precious resource on the planet, our oceans. In doing this, they created apparel that is made from 100% recycled plastic water bottles. Super soft and comfy, Consurfvations ‘Repreve’ fabric is made from 100% (PET) recycled plastic water bottles that would most likely end up in our landfills or in our oceans. Consurfvation believes that every effort, no matter how big or small, makes a difference and they have aligned themselves with 4 major ocean awareness organizations that are doing great work bringing awareness and keeping our oceans clean for future generations.
