Are you a fan of the jumpsuit? In the years since high school I’ve had many ‘grown up’ dressy jumpsuits and they have been a great way look polished and pulled-together in one easy step. Not so good when you make a run to the Ladies Room but worth it for that sleek look. A jumpsuit look I haven’t worn since my teens is this more industrial type – you can call it a flight suit, boiler suit, repairman suit – and I’m actually LOVING it!
Here’s what I used to do back in the day! I’d unbutton the suit down to the waist, maybe roll it down a turn or two and tie the arms in a crossknot right in front. I’d always roll the cuffs up a bit to show off my shoes, too. In those days I was wearing low, slouchy boots or Candie’s slides or, with a look like this with a striped tee, I would have worn a https://rstyle.me/+iWDobuEePTkYwOKVrn9rfQfresh white pair of Tretorn sneakers.
You may have noticed how much taller I look in the jumpsuit without the old ‘roll and tie and tee’ – that striped tee really cuts my line and makes me look quite a bit less statuesque! Even my Stuart Weitzman pumps can’t correct this one.
Do you ever try to recreate your old high school style? I do every once in a while when I see a trend come back around and it’s fun for me to remember how I used to wear it. Those were the days….
My jumpsuit was sent to me from DSTLD from a fun collaboration with SlooMoo, my tee is from JCrew and my heels are a pair of Stuart Weitzman pumps. xo
