If you’re following along on Snapchat, you’ll know that I’ve just started working on my deck. The deck is one of the things I love best about the new house – we had to completely rebuild it during the remodel thanks to those pesky termites – but it’s been sitting around ‘undone’ since we moved back in. In contrast to my calm, modern-deco-esque interior I decided to go with bright colors on the deck. My inspiration is that large parrot that I picked up at an estate sale last month.
When Orikami.net reached out to me about a collaboration I fell in love with their site and knew right away that this red ‘Satellite’ bowl would be perfect for my colorful decor ideas for summertime entertaining. Orikami is a concept store sourcing origami-inspired and unique products from around the world – offering a carefully selected mix of specially made items from home decor, toys, gadgets, jewelry to nursery items. The brand’s name is rooted in Japanese language: “ORI” meaning FOLDING, and “KAMI” meaning PAPER.
The store’s signature is based upon the values of minimalism. Embracing the clean, sharp lines of traditional origami to bring that same form of simplicity into our lives. The Orikami picks bring art into your home or office space. I’m completely obsessed with the site and planning my next home decor project around those moth paper origami lamps.
