This past Saturday I took part in a fun blogger shopping excursion to the Desert Hills Premium Outlets in Palm Springs to celebrate the opening of a 50-store expansion that includes the first ever Alexander McQueen outlet in the United States. Our day started by meeting up in Hollywood where we were shuttled in style out to Desert Hills, also known as the mecca of West Coast outlet shopping…
We were greeted with VIP shopper bags, a map of the new shopping area, lots of coupons and then set free to explore the stores for a few hours before lunch. In addition to the Alexander McQueen outlet, this new wing includes Belstaff (also the first in the US), Alice + Olivia, Helmut Lang, CH Carolina Herrera, La Perla, Wolford, Max Mara plus all of the other favorites at Desert Hills including Diane Von Furstenberg, Jimmy Choo, Mulberry, Prada and so many more.
The Ted Baker outlet store was so incredible that I was too busy ooohing and aaahing to take any pictures – same thing with the Rag and Bone outlet but I did buy a few things that I’ll share with you in separate post. We met up again at the VIP shopper lounge for lunch and it was great to give our feet a rest, take advantage of mini-massages and to get our fortunes told based on our lip prints. This was so much fun and surprisingly accurate – it turns out that I’m an open person who likes to have fun…
That cropped BCBG leather jacket I’m wearing was a quick purchase I made at Saks Off Fifth that morning at a discount of 70% off the retail price. After lunch we were recharged and ready to power-shop for a couple of hours before meeting the shuttle for our ride back to Hollywood. The Kate Spade outlet was my first stop after lunch and it felt like a party in there with balloons, cookies, popcorn and incredible deals:
I wanted just about everything in the BCBG outlet – which also had a large selection of Herve Leger – and I had every intention of trying on that yellow/cream/navy dress but then got caught up in other stores and never made it back in there. I need to plan another trek to the desert to try it on:
This excursion combined a bunch of my favorite things: a road trip, designer clothes, great deals, lunch, shopping and girl time with my blogger friends – definitely a great way to spend a Saturday!
