As much as I love dresses for ‘occasions’ I tend to live in jeans for my everyday-running-around life until all that changed a few days ago when I went to the mall searching for a few dresses to bring to Miami for Swim Week.  Let me back up a bit and explain…

Whenever I’m heading out for a work-related trip to Fashion Week or events or even vacations and my honeymoon, I bring along lots of clothes, shoes, bags and jewelry that is provided by the brands that I work with and I feel very fortunate to have the relationships that I’ve built with these brands and PR companies over that past 7 years, so I love to wear and share the latest from these lines.  This time, though, I’m only in Miami for a few quick days and wanting to just ‘live in the moment’ and enjoy the shows and not worry too much about shooting what I’m wearing.  Sooooo, I’ve just made a short story quite long but the gist of it all is that I ran to the mall to pick up a few easy pieces to wear in Miami and here’s what happened…

I ended up finding 5 new dresses that I absolutely love! All on sale and all just perfectly comfy, casual and stylish and I feel so fabulous wearing them.  I have been wearing dresses each day for the past 3 days and EVERYTHING HAS CHANGED. I love how I feel and am comfortable and confident throughout my busy days.  Generally I’m in jeans and a cute top and maybe sneakers but sometimes feeling a little underdressed when spur-of-the-moment opportunities pop up.  Just throwing on even a casual dress with sandals has made such a difference for me; it’s hard to explain and all I can say is to try it for yourself and let me know how you feel!  I keep thinking about Diane Von Furstenburg’s famous quote: “Feel like a woman, wear a dress”.

Needless to say, I’ll be wearing and sharing quite a few simply chic Summer dresses in the coming days and hope you’ll follow along here and on my Instagram – instagram.com/thecurrentcrush
