This vintage camel hair blazer – originally from Bullock’s Wilshire – is one of my most treasured estate sale finds of recent years. I found this one at a sale out in Encino two years ago and, unlike most vintage woolen pieces, it was free of moth holes and was in perfect condition. Clearly, this blazer belonged to a man with impeccable taste who took very good care of his belongings. Interestingly enough, he also had my boyfriends’ initials and we scored a near-perfect-condition leather Hartmann suitcase with his initials on it.
This combination of black, white and tan has been my favorite sure-fire recipe for simple, chic dressing for the longest time. When I don’t know what to wear, I just pull out basics like these and instantly feel effortlessly chic and prepared to take on whatever the day (or night) holds. Don’t you love that feeling of being well-dressed and comfortable at the same time? That’s how I feel in this outfit.
I picked up these booties awhile back from that Jane Aldridge/Sea of Shoes collaboration with Shoemint and I still love them so much. My shirt is a new favorite – I bought it in black as well – and I can’t count how many times I’ve worn it in the past month.
I’m excitedly prepping for my trip to NYC next week and planning out a few mix and match basics that will keep me warm and stylish for NYFW. This will be my fifth season at NYFW and I’ve sworn to pack lighter than ever this time! xxoo
