Womens Hairstyles: Three Easy Styles that can Save You on a Bad Hair Day

women’s hairstylesIs there anything worse than realizing that you’re having a bad hair day on a busy morning? For those times when you need to get to work and your hair is refusing to behave, it can very helpful to have a number of easy women’s hairstyles already in mind. These three great hairstyles go a long way in taming your tresses and help you save time when preparing for work in the morning.

1. Twisted Side “Braid”
The braid is one of the most classic women’s hairstyles that you can put together, and it also does a perfect job of keeping wild hair under control. If you’re sick of the basic braided look, consider an elegant side “braid” with a twist. It’s not a true braid, but the effect is similar.

To create the look, begin by pulling your hair into a side ponytail. The height of the ponytail is up to you. Divide the loose hair into two sections, and pull each of these sections through the hair right before the start of the ponytail. Now, make another ponytail right beneath the first, and repeat this process as many times as you like to create an interesting “braid” that offers a very different look once complete.

2.  The Princess Roll

Begin by using a salt spray or another type of texturizing product throughout your hair. Next, you place a damage-free elastic headband around the front part of your hair. You know those maiden flower crowns you see at renaissance festivals? That’s the sort of placement you want to use for this style.

Once you have the band in place, wrap your loose hair up and over the bottom part of the hair band. Tuck the hair under the band to hold it in place. Begin at the temple and slowly work your way around the back to the other temple, and use hairspray to keep the look secure for the rest of your work day. You can use a couple of bobby pins to catch any hair that falls loose, or you can let them hang free for a more casual look.

If your hair is misbehaving, you might as well use that messiness to your advantage. The messy knot is one of the best women’s hairstyles out there, due to the fact that it works with any texture of hair.

Begin with your hair down. Separate it into two sections—as if you were going to make pigtail braids—but don’t make a clean part. Next, cross the sections over each other and tie them into a loose knot. This might be a bit tricky if you haven’t done it before, but once you get the hang of it, you’ll find it quite easy.

Once the knot is in place, take the loose ends, pin them under, and secure with hairspray. Don’t worry if a few random hairs fall out—this look is supposed to be messy! For a more bohemian version of this style, create a few tiny braids on the top of your head before you begin.
