Threading at Ziba Beauty

IMG_0686I did it! I had my eyebrows threaded for the first time yesterday and I’m so glad that I was brave enough to try it.  I first met Glenn at that rooftop ‘On The Go’ beauty event but my brows were freshly waxed at that point so the Ziba Beauty team invited me to visit their salon in Fred Segal for a threading appointment the following month.

IMG_0740Glenn is an amazingly talented eyebrow artist (with an impressive celebrity clientele) who learned the art of threading from his mother when he was 13 years old.  I immediately felt comfortable with Glenn and the first thing we did was discuss my face shape, brow symmetry -“They’re sisters, not twins!”-  and my desire to grown them in a little for the fuller brows of my dreams.

IMG_0673The next step was the actual threading – an amazing process that is surprisingly painless compared to waxing.

IMG_0737IMG_0729After the threading my eyebrows were penciled in using a twist-up wax brow pencil from Ziba’s ‘Sumita’ line for eyes and brows.  I was given a few of the Sumita eye pencils at the ‘On The Go’ event last month and I’ve been using them every day since – they’re completely smudge and smear proof and stay on all day long without fading.

IMG_0759IMG_0694If you haven’t tried threading yet, I highly recommend it and you can find all of the Ziba locations on their website.  If you’re near Santa Monica then it’s a great idea to visit the location within the New Beauty area in Fred Segal – there are so many cute summer styles in the store right now.

Glenn sent me home with a goodie bag from the Ziba Beauty team which included three mascaras, a blonde eyebrow pencil and and a great brush/comb for my brows from their Sumita line.  I’m excited to try their mascaras – especially that bright blue one!
