Can you believe this is my fifth post about Bay to Breakers? The five years I’ve been sharing my annual trek up to San Francisco to walk the 7.1 mile race have flown by! I can’t remember how many times I’ve shared pictures from my favorite Irish Coffee spot but it’s a place I like to visit whenever I’m in town. I remember my dad taking me to this landmark bar when I turned 21 and telling me that ‘every great night ends up at the Buena Vista’. I had another blog waaaaaaay back in 2010 (three years before Currently Crushing) and the first post I ever wrote was all about the history of this fun bar. Warm, friendly people, great Irish Coffee, a view of the Golden Gate Bridge and the turn-around spot for the cable cars make this the best place, EVER.

This year we stayed in the city with my mom, brother and sister-in-law and attended the pre-race expo at Pier 35, ate a fair amount of pizza, saw a comedy show at The Punch Line and enjoyed an epic cheese-and-charcuterie platter that Juse and I made from a quick trip to Trader Joe’s in Nob Hill.

As always, the fun crowd, great costumes, music and sheer madness that makes San Francisco my favorite city all added up to another epic Bay to Breakers weekend.
Even though I’ve been living in LA for years and years now, I still miss the Bay Area and all of the fun people that live there.
